Defending Civil Rights / Fighting Hate & Injustice

Our Action Plans

Feed our Democracy believes that each of our small actions can add up to big change. This Action Plan for Supporting LGBTQ Causes & Rights gives you some simple steps you can take to make a difference.

Southern Poverty Law Center

The Southern Poverty Law Center is an American nonprofit legal advocacy organization specializing in civil rights and public interest litigation. The SPLC is the premier U.S. organization monitoring hate groups and other extremists throughout the United States and expose their activities to the public, the media and law enforcement.

ACLU

For almost 100 years, the ACLU has worked to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the Constitution and laws of the United Sates of America. The ACLU Human Rights Program (HRP) is dedicated to holding the United States accountable to international human rights laws and standards as well as the rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

Anti Defamation League

The Anti-Defamation League has always meant stopping anti-Semitism and defending the Jewish people. Today, it also means fighting threats to our very democracy, including cyberhate, bullying, bias in schools and in the criminal justice system, terrorism, hate crimes, coercion of religious minorities, and contempt for anyone who is different. ADL’s dual mission includes a mandate to secure justice and fair treatment to all. In ADL’s tradition of calling out what divides us and shining a light on what can unite people, we work with diverse communities and with law enforcement to identify hate and then to mobilize people to work vigorously against it.

GLAAD

GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change. GLAAD protects all that has been accomplished and creates a world where everyone can live the life they love.

NAACP

The mission of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is to ensure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights of all persons and to eliminate race-based discrimination.
